| me personally, but unless this "POP" is a new wavelength opened up for law enforcement use by the FCC, then it sound to me like you are referring to what was called "instant-on" or "pop" radar which highway patrol in SC and georgia were using way back when my parents had a radar detector in their CONVERSION VAN. So we are talking late 80's, early 90's. The cop sits, waits til he sees a car flicks on his radar unit, and "pop" he gets the speed instantly and you are busted. I cant imagine what else POP could possibly be referring to. There is NOTHING magical about law enforcement radar, they either drive or sit with it on and constantly reading out the fastest speed recorded and figure out who is doing that speed with their own two eyes or they flip it on when they want and have already eyeballed the car that they have determined is the fastest moving car in the radar's field of view. Radar detector manufacturers really pull the jedi mind trick on people by perpetuating the urban legendry of fancy shmancy radars the "get you" in some fashion other than this. Laser detectors are worthless, unless you like the 10 second notice that a cop down the road has just hit you with a beam of infrared light approx the diameter of a grapefruit and is currently writing your ticket as you approach him.
